Traveling

Well I've moved out of the Chicago area to Arkansas, about the time the Hawks have really stepped it up and Rocky has done wonders with the team. As a Christmas present two years ago, my wife got me tickets to 6 games in Chicago including the "fan appreciation" night. Our first game was actually the first of what has now grown to 70 straight sell-outs. In the rest of my Christmas present we saw and heard the United Center come alive, when Rocky and John came out to the section next to us on fan appreciation night, I got to shake Rocky's hand and tell him I thought he was doing a great job and actually speak to him, a true hockey fan, for a few minutes. Even though that night, we were officially eliminated from playoff possibility prior to the game, the 2 minute standing ovation the Hawks got that night was even mentioned, after the game, by all of players interviewed in post game. I remember Seabrook saying, "it's incredible that the fans show that kind of support for a team that just missed the playoffs". Now I'm stuck watching on TV, and it's great but not the same. Its too long of a commute to come for a game, but I'm there in spirit and just received another stellar Christmas gift, an early one, but a good one. I was handed a pair of tickets to the Blackhawks game when they travel to Nashville the day after Christmas, row 5 lower, between the faceoff dot and the blue line of the end where the Hawks shoot twice. Yes my wife understands HOCKEY and loves it with me! So if you watch on Comcast or WGN and see a crazy Hawks fan at the away game....it's me!!!! in my Black BlackHawks Jersey!!!

Since I'm 3 hours away from St. Louis and Nashville, I can see me getting the schedule every year looking at the away games in those two cities, and I can only HOPE for a playoff series with one of those two, I'll really be in enemy territory!

Great Game

We had great seats, actually met some really nice Preds fans there. One set of fans moved to Nashville from Chicago 10 years ago, and still like to see the Hawks do well. Guys to my wife's left leaned over during that barrage in the 2nd period and said...."You guys have a much better team than we do, I didn't realize how fast they were and still handled the puck around our guys."

It's nice to look up at the scoreboard and see 14 shots to 2...and skating circles around teams. This weekend we took the Preds from "on our heels" to "back a ways".

I'll definately be traveling back to see a game there again. Nice arena.

Funny story, the wife was taking pics during pregame skate. She loves Buffy, but Kane skated by saw she was taking pictures and posed with a big grin...she got SO EXCITED....she forgot to let go of the camera button so she missed the picture. Too funny!! I'll put some of the shots she did get up later.

Now it back to Armorel, AR, basically the first exit into Arkansas on I-55 coming south from Missouri. 5 min to the Mississippi river, and 5 min to Missouri.

Take care all on the holiday! Be careful driving on New Years!

Nashville and Arkansas

Have fun at the game, I'll watch for you!!! You may have already told me, but where are you in Arkansas?
Go HAAAWKS!
