Stan Mikita -Endurance

18 x 24" graphite on paper. The original is available in our store as well as limited fine art prints. "I could've called this 'Respect' just as easily. I wanted to illustrate not only the duration of Stan Mikita's long career through the many faces of Stan, but the character it took to endure and be the giving gentleman he is today. Stan made a new life for himself as a young boy, leaving the family and life he knew for another country. He endured and conquored his own temper as a young player to achieve respect from the league and his peers. He endured through back pain to help lead the Blackhawks through 22 seasons and a Stanley Cup. He was intstrumental in the development of the American Hearing Impaired Hockey Association and he endures as a gentleman to this day....and he's always been a better golfer than me!"
