Acrylic on canvas board, 24 x 36". This original painting was created in 1990 and depicts National Hockey League Hall of Fame member, All Star, and former head Coach of the Chicago Blackhawks Denis Savard. This painting was autographed in paint by Denis Savard in 1990 making it one of the most rare of all art collectibles. Prints and the original painting are available in the STORE. This original is priced at $4200 and is framed in walnut. "One of my first 'themed' paintings, Denis was known for his spinarama move, a seemingly weightless maneuver, the skill and subtlety of which earned him the nickname of 'Savoir Faire'. Although the phrase literally refers to appropriate activities or manners (and Denis is the perfect gentleman), it also refers to a cartoon mouse known for his stealth and cunning! "He's here, he's there, Savoir Faire is everywhere!" Usually a painting focuses attention on the subject's face and de-emphasies the background and uniform. I chose to give equal attention to the wind whipping his jersey and gave a cloud-like quality to the skating surface to create an allusion to his speed and grace."
